I agree with you completely, and I think it is a travesty that these beautiful animals are considered less sacred than any other living being. In this case disregarded as disposable and additionally used as an ego tool such as she did to promote herself as being a person of strength. Coming from a military family, I can assure you that is the exact opposite of courage or strength. And although I do not want to entertain her politics, I do believe there is power in the vote… or in this case withholding one. Not from a political stance, but to speak out on behalf of humanity.

She said the puppy was the picture of joy and that's when she knew she hated it and decided to kill it. She's mentally ill. The normal response to seeing joy is to feel that joy. It was a puppy, and she was too stupid to train it and too cruel to take it to a shelter so that it might have a chance to be adopted by someone sane. She also killed a goat because it smelled bad. Putting a dog down for any reason is a solemn event. Not something to call out in a book or to prove some point. Also even if you give her what she claimed as true, there's no reason to say she hated the dog and call it less than worthless.

I like Robert‘s point of assessing a person (potential vice president in this case ) based not on how extreme they’re willing to be to eliminate a frustration, but rather whether they’re willing to accept responsibility and put in the time and effort required to actually train the dog. Seems like she’s pretty primitive in her view of the world, and how best to “solve” problems.

German Wirehair Pointers are FAMOUS for eating chickens, there's a sticker that Project Upland makes that's a GWP with a skunk in it's mouth because there is a running joke that they will fetch you anything. They have high prey drive, it's part of the breed. You have to manage for it, and it's your fault if your dog kills a chicken. Hell, we had a livestock guardian dog that was supposed to be guarding chickens that was eating them, and we didn't kill the dog we put a chicken carcass on the electric fence. A few corrections and the dog didn't eat chickens again.

In defense of dog buyers such as myself, I do ask for the price early on in the conversation. Pretty much coming out of the gate. Because if I do not, and the price is above what I can pay, it is a waste of the breeders time (and my own) talking with me as we answer each others questions.
